Graduate School of Commerce
Dean's message
A Pioneer in the Science of Commerce in Japan
SARUWATARI, Toshihiro
The Graduate School of Commerce aims to nurture future researchers and business experts with professional knowledge, broad liberal arts familiarity, a wide range of perspectives and a willingness to contribute to the progress of the world. The school inherited the rich goals of tradition from the original Department of Commerce of Meiji University founded in 1904.
The School offers eight courses encompassing economics, commerce, business administration, accountancy, finance, securities, insurance, transportation and international trade. About fifty professors are engaged in instructing and research among these courses.
Now, Japanese society along with university education is changing rapidly, and the value of graduate school education is becoming more appreciable. The school is open to foreign students and working professionals, and has introduced special entrance examination systems to allow acceptance of students from all over the world, as well as from the business world.
The school provides an environment for promoting global level research. The Renault Foundation has appointed our students to the Paris International MBA Program since 2002, and the School has contracted several academic exchange programs with foreign universities.
In addition, the school has devised credit transfer agreements with relevant research courses allowing graduate students to attend the classes of other graduate schools. Also, with the advent of the teaching assistant system started in 2004, the environment for graduate student research has greatly improved.
The school seeks enthusiastic students, both domestic and international, from various backgrounds. Come, join us!
